The State Government answered the prayers of Anglers and opened the state up for fishing for the long weekend.
EAGLEHAWK NECK
Species: Bluefin Tuna.
As reported last week, Eaglehawk Neck was alive with the sound of Bluefin Tuna busting the surface. More schoolie sized Tuna caught over the weekend rather than the Jumbos, and as always the stand out lure of Eaglehawk was the Halco Laser Pro 190 in the King Brown colour.
ST HELENS
Species: Bluefin & Albacore Tuna / Stripped Trumpeter / Flathead
The population of St Helens doubled on Friday evening with many people finally getting the chance to head back down to their shacks and enjoy the long weekend.
The wait was definitely worth the while with many anglers reporting good catches. Both Albacore and Bluefin caught and for those not wanting to spend the day trolling around, anglers reported some great catches of Stripped Trumpeter and some big Flathead as well.
NORTH COAST

For those not venturing down the Coast the North Coast is producing plenty of Whiting up and around the Kelso area. Hayabusa Whiting Rigs the most effective way to land a feed.
