Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 23rd December 2020

EAST COAST

Species:  Albacore and Bluefin Tuna.

Christmas weekend is shaping up to be a cracker for anglers with Albacore and Bluefin Tuna appearing on the East Coast over the weekend.

St Helens, Coles Bay and Bicheno all reporting catches. Small skirted lures and Halco Laser pros both working well.

All we need now is the weather to play along!

BRIDPORT

Species:  Flathead.

Plenty of Flathead reported off Bridport, with some huge fish being landed, 500- 600mm. Towards Ninth Island was the hotspot with Jig Em rigs working wonders on them.

WEST COAST

Species:  Striped Trumpeter

We don’t often hear to many reports from the West Coast of Tassie but this week we have heard of some great Striped Trumpeters being caught out of Macquarie Harbour.
