Tamar Marine Fishing Report - 16th December 2020 - Tamar Marine: Boating, Fishing & Marine Gear

Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 16th December 2020

WATERHOUSE ISLAND

Species:  Flathead & Gummy Shark.

Waterhouse has been a superb fishery over the past couple of months with many species calling the islands waters home. Flathead and Gummy Sharks were the fish on the bite this week with Flasher Rigs and Fresh bait working well on both.

TAMAR RIVER

Species:  Snapper.

The Tamar River is still the place to be if you’re trying to land a Snapper, with anglers reporting fish of up to 8kgs being caught down the river. You want to be ready to go at the turn of the tide with freshly caught bait.

ST HELENS

Species:  Mako Sharks & Salmon.

Large schools of Salmon off St Helens point with anglers having success casting and retrieving silver slices around the schools.

For the Adrenalin junkies, Makos were reported out wide. Hopefully a good sign for the Annual St Helens Game Fishing Club Shark Comp on the 9th of January.
