Tamar Marine Fishing Report - 17th February 2021 - Tamar Marine: Boating, Fishing & Marine Gear

Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 17th February 2021

TAMAR RIVER

Species:  Kingfish.

Last week it was all about the King George Whiting, this week it’s all about the Kingfish. With anglers taking full advantage of the Kingfish in the river over the weekend. Larger diving lures (14cm size range) trolled at a quicker speed to avoid other fish species working well.

NORTH EAST

Species:  Snapper.

Not to be out done, the North East Coast from Bridport up to Waterhouse Island has been popular for those wanting to land a Snapper.

Fresh bait on basic bottom rigs always working well, but lately anglers have been jigging with small metal jigs and we are hearing they are having a lot of success.

COLES BAY

Species:  Crayfish.

Plenty of Crayfish still about down the Coles Bay area with anglers continuing to have good results in their craypots.

EAGLEHAWK NECK

Species:  Albacore, Bluefin Tuna.

And lastly, Eaglehawk Neck has turned it back on in the past couple of days with some decent sized Albacore Tuna caught and some smaller Bluefin Tuna. Hopefully setting up for a great run of Tuna over the coming months.
