Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 17th June 2020

EAGLEHAWK NECK & ST HELENS

Species: Bluefin Tuna.

Those who have ventured to Eaglehawk Neck have been hit with schools of 20 – 40kg Bluefin Tuna, with reports of 100kg plus jumbos mixed in with them. There has also been mention of both Schoolies and Jumbos being caught in 30 – 50 metres of water near Pulfers Reef, St Helens.

Halco Laser Pro Lures in King Brown and Skirted Lures imitating red bait being the pick to land both schoolie and jumbo sized Bluefin Tuna.

WEYMOUTH TO BRIDPORT

Species: Flathead & Gummy Sharks.

Gummy Shark and Flathead being caught along the North Coast, Weymouth to Bridport have been reported to be hot spots producing some solid catches.

Jig Ems and Hayabusa Flasher Rigs are the lures of choice to land either specie.

KELSO

Species: Whiting.

Anglers in the North have reported Whiting being caught in the river around Kelso. Sandy patches among weed and broken bottom in 2 – 6 metres of water are ideal spots to hook onto one.

Hayabusa Whiting Rigs working well.
