We are still receiving reports of Bluefin Tuna being caught off Shouten Island. Halco Laser Pro lures doing the most damage, closer to the islands shoreline in around 40 – 60 metres of water.

LAKE LEAKE – WOODS LAKE

Species: Brown & Rainbow Trout.

It’s only early in the Trout season and we have been hearing of a lot of great catches. Lake Leake and Woods Lake have been performing this past week, with reports of a mixture of Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout being caught.

A tip to land either is to be trolling or drift spinning over the weed beds. Hard Body, Soft Plastics and Tassie Devil Cobras working well.

Anglers landing decent size Flathead in the North East of the state, with Tomahawk being the reported hot spot. Drifting in 30 – 40 metres of water with Mustad Flasher Rigs, Hayabusa Rigs and Jig Em Rigs all getting the job done.

TAMAR RIVER

Local anglers have had luck close to home with reports of Sea Run Trout being caught in the Tail Race, mainly off the pontoon. Eel and salted Scallops are being used as bait to land these.
