Tamar Marine Fishing Report - 26th May 2021 - Tamar Marine: Boating, Fishing & Marine Gear

Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 26th May 2021

EAST COAST

Species:  Bluefin Tuna.

The East Coast is continuing its solid run with Bluefin Tuna being caught from St Helens all the way down the coast to Eaglehawk Neck. With both Schoolies and Barrels being caught on a mixture of both Skirts and Hardbody Divers, Pakulas and Halco Laser Pros doing the bulk of the damage.

DEVONPORT

Species:  Bluefin Tuna.

Another Barrel landed off the coast of Devonport this week proving last weeks was no fluke! Hopefully they continue to get a bit thicker and hang around longer!

TAMAR RIVER

Species:  King George Whiting.

For those not wanting to spend the day trolling around Bass Strait for the elusive Barrell, then anchoring up in the river was the best place to be. A number of large King George Whiting have been caught down the mouth of the river. Anchoring up in a sandy patch on the flat is the starting point, but if you are not having much luck, try heading out towards the channel a bit as the Whiting tend to hide in the deeper water during the colder months.
