Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 30 October 2019

The North and East coast starting to heat up.

SWIMCART BEACH

Species: Black Back Salmon.

Located a short drive north from St Helens, Swimcart Beach is the ideal destination for the avid surf angler. Black Back Salmon frequent the area and are a great surf fishing target.

A great way to target the salmon off the beach is a simple surf rig with a popper attached.

KELSO

Species: King George Whiting.

Plenty of King George Whiting still about down the mouth of the river. Great eating and fun to catch fish. The Hayabusa Whiting rigs are purpose built to target the King George Whiting.

SCAMANDER RIVER

Species: Black Bream.

Located 15 mins south of St Helens.

The Scamander River is one of Tasmania’s premier Bream fisheries, and this is the time of year that the Bream make there way upstream to spawn.

Best accessed with a boat or kayak and using light gear with soft plastics is a awesome way to target the Black Bream.
