Tamar Marine Fishing Report - 9th June 2021 - Tamar Marine: Boating, Fishing & Marine Gear

Tamar Marine Fishing Report – 9th June 2021

SCHOUTEN ISLAND

Species:  Bluefin Tuna.

Schouten Passage was the hotspot of the week on the East Coast with a number of schoolie sized Bluefin being caught. Diving lures such as Halco Laser Pros and Rapala X-Raps working better on the Coast.

DEVONPORT

Species:  Bluefin Tuna.

An armada of small fishing vessels descended on the waters out the front of Devonport over the weekend to chase the elusive Bass Strait Barrel, and many anglers came up short with only 1 reported Saturday morning. Skirted Lures and fishing at either dawn or dusk seeming to be the common theme with those that have been landed.

TAMAR RIVER

Species:  Cocky Salmon.

Plenty of Cocky Salmon in the river at the moment predominantly near Kelso on the edge of the channel. The Salmon push bait fish up onto the sand flats to feed on, trolling or casting a small metal lure that resembles the baitfish is a great way to target them.
